We’ve already talked about the interior styles of the various signs of the zodiac many times. The fire, earth and air element star signs have had their turn. For the finale of our zodiac series, today I want to talk you through the best furniture and home accessories for the water element star signs. Once again, I’ve taken a look at what defines those born under a specific star sign and how they like to set up their home according to these traits.
Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are the zodiac signs of the element water. They all have a mysterious aura and a sensitive and romantic character. They are extremely sensitive, gentle and compassionate, which makes them wonderful companions but also challenging characters in equal measure. How to make it cosy for Cancers

If you were to describe any of the star signs as particularly sensitive, it would have to be the Cancer. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Because of their sensitive nature, Cancers are very careful about other people’s feelings, whilst also being very family oriented and sentimental. Admittedly, they get sad easily, but this can also be attributed to their great need for harmony. In addition, Cancers have a strong soul and when they have outgrown a challenge, like the hermit crab outgrows its shell, they create new goals for themselves. But just like the hermit crab, people of the zodiac sign Cancer also like to retreat to their home when everything becomes too much for them and seek security there. This means that their interior style is often very cosy. But that doesn’t mean that Cancers don’t like open spaces with light-coloured walls. It's the right mixture that makes the difference! An airy home that won’t make anyone feel claustrophobic becomes a cosy home with fluffy blankets, cushions and other textiles. The combination of welcoming and comfortable is also found in the country house style, which Cancers are big fans of. Wicker furniture, pretty storage boxes and vases with fresh grasses and flowers make the Cancer's heart beat faster. A maritime touch with shells and sand is also appreciated. This style is particularly suited for the bathroom and works well with light ceramic tiles and retro fixtures. Cancers don’t need bright or garish colours. They prefer white and blue, but also like using subtle colours such as sand, cream, beige or shades of brown and green. A Cancer’s furniture may be made of bamboo or solid wood, or it can be rustic and shabby chic. Cancers are sociable people who feel extremely comfortable surrounded by animals and love to take care of them. The importance they place on family is clear to see from their home decor: lots of personal items, photos with their loved ones, as well as lots of mementos decorate their walls and really top off that feel-good atmosphere!

Stylish darkness in the home of the Scorpio

Scorpios have the reputation of being the most mysterious sign of all, which adds to their magical aura. They have strong characters and are extremely determined, but at the same time they are diligent, passionate and sensitive. Scorpios are suspicious by nature, which is perhaps one of the reasons why they feel most comfortable alone and place a lot of value on security in their home. For this reason, Scorpios also prefer to live in a house rather than an apartment. Even if they live with their family or partner, they need a place of retreat. They like to draw their curtains, lock all the doors, and let life outside go on without them while they pursue their favourite hobbies on their own. Said curtains should preferably be dark and heavy. This generally corresponds to the preferred aesthetics of Scorpios. They are into luxurious, cool and modern interiors, and pay great attention to the details. In their homes you’ll find rustic furniture made from leather or wood, cold materials such as marble, but also glamourous accents with touches of gold and silver. Their favourite colours for decorating their home are aubergine, intense burgundy or rich blue, even as wall colours. For decoration, candles and shiny metallic accessories are often seen. When asked the typical question of whether they prefer black or white, Scorpios will choose black in most cases, but they also enjoy contrasting black and white. Just as opulent as materials and colours are the pieces of furniture, where they always prefer to choose the larger version. A giant dining table, a large mirror, lavish vases and sculptures are all great additions to the slightly dramatic interior style. At the same time, however, they manage to maintain a minimalist, sophisticated look. Scorpios are not afraid to use bold colours and home accessories, because they want to have an elegant home where they can fully enjoy the quiet hours without the noise of the world.

Pisces signs in their element - how the last zodiac sign lives

Pisces are real dreamers. On the one side they are extremely imaginative and creative, on the other they are lovable, chaotic and slightly disorganised. Nevertheless, their character has depth, they are very affectionate and need a lot of attention as well as protection. Although they are romantics, Pisces are still mysterious and never - or only very rarely - reveal everything about themselves. Pisces are very in touch with nature, which means they need a garden or at the very least a balcony or patio area. They like spending time in the countryside and are big fans of plants. However, Pisces are also very connected to their associated element; they enjoy spending time in the water and prefer living near it. So, you can probably imagine how much they love adding a maritime touch to their home or living in their own personal urban jungle. Harmony and romantic touches are also often found in a Pisces’ home. They find dark or garish colours oppressive, which is why they like to work with subtle blues and greens as well as natural or pastel colours. In a Pisces’ home everything is colour-coordinated, but never looks overly styled. Pisces like to mix various styles, use lots of light wood and add cosy knitted pieces and airy fabrics such as linen. They are more emotional than rational and like to turn their home into the ultimate protective space that they can feel secure in. They decorate their space with great attention to detail, using glass accessories, candles or fairy lights. They love textiles and furniture made from rattan, but they also like high-quality vases. If Pisces are surrounded by enough water, plants and cosy furnishings, they can easily escape from everyday life.
