It’s always time for Pizza! Whether you're celebrating an upcoming birthday party or hosting a movie night on the sofa, this all-around dish out of the oven is perfect for any occasion. But not only delivery services and your freezer offer delicious pizza, it becomes even a better treat when you bake it yourself.
Unfortunately, it does not always work out as planned. Preparing and rolling out the dough can be a challenge, the pizza takes too long or is not quite crispy enough. We can help with that! We have prepared 5 tips and tricks to make every pizza night a great success.
Bake the perfect pizza with these 5 tips
- Yeast: Do not mix yeast with salt, because it needs plenty of water. Salt, however, has the effect of extracting water, so the two do not go well together. The water in which you dissolve the yeast should also not be too hot; if in doubt, use cold water.
- Let the pizza dough rise: A temperature of 25-30°C is optimal for this. If you have the time, try doubling the rising time for your pizza dough. First let it rise for an hour, then knead it again and then let it rise for another hour. This makes for a particularly soft dough!
- Knead like a champion: It is difficult to make a really thin pizza dough that is particularly crispy with a rolling pin. It is better to use a dough roller, which is much longer.
- It’s getting hot in here: Did you know that the optimal baking temperature for pizza is 300-320°C? With that much heat, it only needs to be in the oven for 4-6 minutes. If your oven does not heat up that much, you can use a pizza stone. It retains the heat in the oven longer and transfers it evenly to your pizza. With a pizza stone you basically have a pizzeria at home! But be sure to use oven gloves so as not to burn yourself.
- Avoid conflicts: If you regularly argue about who gets the bigger slice of pizza, a pizza board can help. Firstly, you can see exactly how to cut on the pizza board and secondly, all the pieces are the same size.
